These terms
These terms apply when you use talkbravely.com, take our quiz or buy a plan. Two other pages are part of them: our Subscription and Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy. When you pay, you agree to all three.
You must be 18 or older to buy. TalkBravely is for your own personal use, and one plan is for one person.
What TalkBravely is
TalkBravely gives you AI tutors to practise speaking with, out loud, in a web app. You can learn English, Spanish, French, Italian, German or Portuguese. Your plan covers the language you chose. All six come with the all-languages add-on.
The tutors are AI, not people, and we always label them as AI. They are patient and careful, but they can mishear you or get something wrong. Please check anything important, like the wording of a job application, with a person you trust.
TalkBravely helps you practise. It is not an official course or exam, and we can’t promise that you will reach a certain level by a certain date.
Plans and payment
You pay the price shown for your first period today. The plan then renews at its renewal price every period, until you cancel. On the 1 and 3-month plans the first period is at an introductory price: for example, the 1-month plan is €18 for the first month, then €36 every month. The 12-month plans renew at the same price every year.
Our Subscription and Refund Policy lists every price, explains the struck-through amounts and how long the introductory price lasts.
Before you pay, you see what you pay today and that your plan renews automatically until you cancel. By paying you agree to this. We keep a record of what you agreed to and when. We email you before every renewal.
You pay in euros, Polish złoty or Brazilian reais, depending on the version of TalkBravely you buy from. Every price and currency is listed in our Subscription and Refund Policy.
Payments are handled by Stripe. At checkout, you agree that Stripe saves your card. We use it for your renewals, and for any one-time offer you choose with a tap. We never see your full card number.
One-time offers
Right after you buy, we may show you a few extras, like lifetime access or all six languages. Each one is optional. Each is a single payment that never renews. You are charged only when you tap the button that shows the price. What each extra gives you is listed in our Subscription and Refund Policy.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel any time, in two taps in your account, or by email. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Changed your mind? Ask within 14 days of any payment, including a renewal or a one-time offer, and we refund it in full. This covers your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU law and your 7-day right of regret under Brazilian law.
If you live in France, you can cancel online at any time without writing or calling us. On 3 and 12-month plans, we also remind you by email at least one month before each renewal.
The full rules are in our Subscription and Refund Policy.
Your account
Your account is for you alone, so please don’t share it. Keep your email account safe, because your sign-in and your receipts go there. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us straight away.
Using TalkBravely fairly
Please don’t:
- share your account or resell access to it;
- use the tutors to harass anyone, or to make anything illegal or harmful;
- try to break, overload, copy or reverse engineer TalkBravely, or collect its content with bots;
- try to make the tutors ignore their rules.
To keep TalkBravely fast for everyone, we may set a fair daily limit on speaking minutes. If we do, we show it in the app before it applies.
If someone breaks these rules, we may pause or close their account. We tell you why. If it is serious, we may act first and tell you right after.
What you say to your tutor
What you say in your lessons stays yours. We use it to run your lessons and to remember your progress, as our Privacy Policy explains. It is not used to train other companies’ AI models.
Please don’t share things you would not want stored, like passwords, card numbers or health details.
Our content
The TalkBravely name, the tutors, the lessons, the drawings and the PDFs belong to us or to people who license them to us. You may use them for your own learning. Please don’t copy, share or sell them.
If something goes wrong
We take care to make TalkBravely work as we describe it. If it doesn’t, consumer law gives you rights, for example to have it fixed, to pay less or to get your money back. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
TalkBravely may sometimes be unavailable for a short time, for example for maintenance. We work to keep that short and rare.
Where the law allows, we are not responsible for losses we could not have foreseen, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. This limit does not apply to fraud, to gross negligence, to injury caused by our negligence, or where the law does not allow it.
Changes to TalkBravely
We improve TalkBravely all the time, so features may change. We won’t take away the main thing you paid for, speaking practice with AI tutors, during a period you have already paid for.
If we change these terms in a way that affects your plan, we email you at least 30 days before. You can cancel before the change applies. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
Ending your plan
You can stop at any time by cancelling your plan. If we ever close TalkBravely, or end your plan for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Lithuania, where we are based. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of its consumer laws, and you can take a claim to the courts where you live.
If something goes wrong, please email us first. Most problems are solved in one reply. If we can’t agree:
- In the EU, you can ask Lithuania’s State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (Valstybinė vartotojų teisių apsaugos tarnyba, vvtat.lt) to help settle it out of court, or go to the consumer body in your own country.
- In Brazil, you can contact your local PROCON.
